Chittagong is the commercial capital of Bangladesh. Patenga beach is located near the city. The beach is located on the south side of the city. It is very near to Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport and the Bangladesh Naval Academy of Bangladesh Navy. The beach is near the mouth of the Karnaphuli River.
Distance of the beach from the city is only 22 km. There are lots of transportation facilities to visit the wonderful beach. You can visit the beach from Chittagong via local bus or CNG taxi. It takes 30-45 minutes.
It is not a very big beach but it is a very popular beach of Chittagong. The beach remains crowed mainly at Friday because it's the holiday for Bangladesh. On Eid-Ul-Fitar, Eid-Ul-Azha, Pohela Boishakh and on Bijoya Dashomi the beach remain mostly crowded.

Here, you can hire a speed boat to visit the bank side of the beach. You also can hire a horse to ride on the beach. You also find there some freelance photographer to take photo.
This is a picnic spots for all people and mainly for school students.There are lots of restaurants and hotels around the beach. You will be crazy to see the cargo ships just few kilometers away from the shore.
There are also some 5 stars hotels just few Kilometers away from the beach.
